§ 98-242. Sewer system customer categories established.

  • There are hereby established the following four categories for customers of the municipal sewer system, all customers shall be divided into such categories for the purpose of establishing sewer rates. The categories are defined as follows:

    (1)

    Residential category. All customer connections to a single family dwelling, a duplex dwelling, a triple dwelling or a four-plex dwelling, provided, however, there is a separate water meter to each unit in the multiple dwellings.

    (2)

    Multifamily category. All customer connections to a structure containing more than a single dwelling unit not serviced by separate water meters for each dwelling unit.

    (3)

    Commercial/industrial nonmonitored category. All customer connections not serving residential or multifamily dwelling units, but serving commerce, industry, and institutional customers. Nonmonitored customers shall be those customers that discharge less than 10,000 pounds per year of regulated pollutants into the sanitary sewer system and have a monthly volume of water use of 150,000 gallons or less.

    (4)

    Commercial/industrial monitored category. All customer connections not serving residential or multifamily dwelling units, but serving commerce, industry, and the institutional customers. Monitored customers shall be those customers that discharge more than 10,000 pounds per year of regulated pollutants into the sanitary sewer system and have a monthly volume of water use for more than 150,000 gallons.
